Amos Lee: My New Moon 2019 Tour

Event Details

Amos Lee: If you have never heard of Amos Lee -- or recognize the kind face with a sometimes-scraggly beard that graces most of his albums -- he's okay with that. Many people have probably heard one of Lee's songs played on a number of television shows. His concert dates have been highly sought after for those desiring a sophisticated and entertaining night out. Lee's fourth album, Mission Bell, was released in early 2011 and features a classic jazz sound that will have people remembering the name Amos Lee for quite a few years. With Amos Lee currently playing a number of sold out tour dates in 2011, it looks like he won't get to enjoy is anonymity for much longer.

Born Ryan Anthony Massaro, Lee is a Philadelphia native. After moving back to Philadelphia after college and teaching elementary school for a couple years, Amos Lee decided to pursue a career in music by releasing an independently produced, self-titled EP in 2004. Sales of the album did extremely well in Philadelphia, catching the eye of Blue Note Records who represented rising star Norah Jones. Lee's big break came when Jones approached him to open for her on her 2004 tour dates. It was Norah Jones' bassist, Lee Alexander, that ended up producing Amos Lee's first full-length, self-titled album in March 2005, with Jones contributing vocals and piano accompaniment. The album was a commercial success with fans and critics, leading to the appearance of singles in a handful of network TV shows. Shortly after the release of the album, Amos Lee received further acclaim by opening concert dates for the likes of Merle Haggard and Bob Dylan.

Two albums and six years later, Amos Lee released his fourth album, Mission Bell, with help from guest musicians like, including Willie Nelson, Lucinda Williams, and Sam Beam (aka Iron & Wine). The album marks an evolution of Lee's style as well as a broadening of his musical tastes, becoming a huge commercial success. The album has taken the #1 spots on both Billboard's Top 200 and Top Rock Albums since its release, as evidenced by dozens of sold-out concert dates in promotion of the album.

Despite a scarcity of tickets, Amos Lee continues on his promotional 2011 tour dates across the world. Lee will be pla
