The Mobile Meals program serves:
hot noon meals, five days a week to Knoxville and Knox County residents who are at least 60 years old, who cannot cook for themselves and have no one to prepare meals for them.
Over 900 homebound seniors are served on 68 meal routes utilizing about 100 volunteers a day Monday - Friday. Volunteers are always needed.
WHO RECEIVES MOBILE MEALS?
About 70 percent are over age 75; many
are in their 80s and 90s.
Most live alone and have no one to help
them. Income is not a factor in deciding who
receives Mobile Meals. Participants are not required to pay for the
meals but are encouraged to make a donation.
