Hope Cottage (formerly Senior Center) Located TN.. Operated by Stephanie and John House. As we move forward with Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida, we are constantly striving to upgrade and update our rescue's most critical needs and our ability to provide the best possible services to our rescued Bostons. The "move" from being totally a Senior Center to being Hope Cottage is one of those critical needs, even though it is the same facility. We have been so fortunate to have a group of wonderful fosters and adopters that want to provide homes for our Senior Dogs, lessening the need for a Senior Center. We still house a smaller number of Senior and Hospice Dogs, and probably always will. But we can also provide Triage, vetting, and recovery services. If you are wondering why we need to do that in Tennessee instead of Florida, the answer is simple - finances without loss of quality care. As example, we recently brought a 9 month old Boston Terrier pup to Hope Cottage diagnosed with patellar luxation. Florida vets, after discounts, agreed to perform the surgery for $1.600.00. The vet we use for Hope Cottage - with over 30 years experience - charged the rescue $366.00 for the exact same surgery. The puppy is doing very well, by the way, and his surgery was a complete success. We will need to make a few minimal modifications for this change over, but most have already been done, including moving our grooming and bathing station into Hope Cottage from another
